I hope this helps. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Thanks for your feedback. This announcement does not change the support policy for the IDE.
These files were marked as distributable in the original Visual Basic 6. Examples of these files include the Visual Basic 6. Key Visual Basic 6. This lifetime is five years of mainstream support and five years of extended support from the time that a given version of Windows ships.
These files have been tested for compatibility as part of our testing of Visual Basic 6. All supported Windows versions contain a nearly identical list of files, and the redist requirements for applications containing these files should be nearly identical. One key difference is that TriEdit. This extended list consists of key controls, libraries, and tools that are installed from the IDE media or from Microsoft.
The developer still needs to redistribute these files with the application. Some files either have fallen out of mainstream support or were never included as a part of the runtime redist e. These files are not supported on Windows; instead they are subject to whatever support agreement applies to the media they were shipped with.
This implies no warranties around support and servicing. In some instances, later versions of these libraries are supported. I compiled published the program, and am attempting to run it on a windows 7 64 bit machine. However, on the 64 bit machine, it freezes up and can only be stopped with Task Manager.
I tried ;loading visual studio on the 64 bit machine, and compiling the app there, with the same result. However it seems to run tested for 1 hour in debug on the 64 bit machine. You could try changing this to x86, which means it will run in 32 bit mode regardless of a 32 or 64 bit OS, and see if you get any better results. Thanks for the reply. That didn't help.
It had been running in debug for almost 2 hours x64 when I shut it down to recompile. I posted something OT some time back about an article that more or less says this.. I'm inclined to agree that Microsoft isn't going to trash COM-based development environments.
Vista may be a pain, but I have declawed it and it is almost XP-like and with a few improvements where I can see some usefulness. Hi, At best all anyone can do here to answer that question is speculate. Hey Bob, Maybe it's not realistic at-all - just passing it on.
It might not be "supported" - as in they aren't going to fix any more bugs, but I suspect that it will continue to work. Bruce W. Page 1 of 2. Go to page: [1] [2]. VB Windows compatibility problem 3.
